This Privacy Policy explains how Footy with Friends ("we", "us") collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you use our website and services.

1. Information we collect

• Account information — your name, email address, and password (stored only as a secure hash), plus any optional profile photo, bio, and preferred playing position you add.
• Activity information — the events you book, league teams and slots you join, RSVPs, and in-app notifications.
• Payment information — when you pay an entry or league fee, payment is handled by Stripe. We never receive or store your full card details; we keep only a record of the payment (amount, status, and Stripe's reference).
• Technical information — your IP address (used to limit abuse) and an essential cookie that keeps you signed in.

2. How we use your information

• To create, manage, and secure your account.
• To operate bookings, league registration, and events.
• To process entry and league fees.
• To send you service emails such as email verification and booking confirmations.
• To keep the community safe and prevent abuse.

3. Service providers

We use trusted third parties that process data on our behalf to run the service. We do not sell your personal information.

• Stripe — payment processing (privacy policy).
• Resend — sending transactional emails (privacy policy).
• Supabase — database hosting (privacy policy).
• Vercel — application hosting (privacy policy).

4. External links

Our app links out to Bumble BFF. When you follow that link you leave our service, and we are not responsible for the practices of third-party sites or apps — please review their own privacy policies.

5. Cookies

We use a single essential cookie to keep you logged in (your session). We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.

6. Data retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account we remove your personal data, except limited records (such as payment records) we may need to retain to meet legal or accounting obligations.

7. Your rights

You can view and update your profile in the app at any time. You can request a copy of your data, a correction, or deletion of your account by contacting us at dk@footywfriends.com. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the UK/EU GDPR or the CCPA.

8. Security

Passwords are hashed with bcrypt, data is transmitted over HTTPS, and access is protected. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.

9. Age

This service is intended for adults (18+). Please do not use it if you are under 18.

10. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. We'll post the updated version here with a new "last updated" date.
